Their subsidiary, Railyard Supply, serves as the sales division, providing a wide array of parts and equipment to support mechanical departments, facilities teams, and capital projects across the rail industry.
Strategic Needs
CWI’s Railyard Data Management (RYDM) system is a cornerstone of its operational visibility and service value. Deployed across more than 40 rail yard locations nationwide, RYDM collects, processes, and transmits equipment and facility data from distributed sites to a centralized platform. The system enables near real-time reporting, preventative maintenance, and logistical coordination across complex, high-volume operations.
Given the age and scale of the platform, CWI needed a trusted partner to help ensure continued stability and performance, while also positioning the system for future innovation. The partnership with Snyder Technologies was formed to manage both the day-to-day support of the current RYDM infrastructure and to co-develop its next-generation successor.
Our Role: Infrastructure Support and Modernization
Snyder Technologies provides end-to-end support for the RYDM system, maintaining everything from the physical device interface layer to cloud database synchronization and centralized reporting. This includes:
Supporting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and sensor integrations at each field location
Managing onsite industrial computers and networking hardware
Administering local databases that synchronize over secure cellular connections to CWI’s central cloud environment
Ensuring data flow integrity between distributed edge devices and centralized SQL databases powering the internal web portal
Our expertise has enabled us to successfully support and scale the platform across dozens of rail yard locations. We’ve also taken a lead role in deploying new installations, replicating and adapting the solution to meet site-specific requirements while maintaining the consistency and interoperability of the broader system.
